The mammoth is back home!

Escrit per RR.II.,

Our 6th grade students already prepared everything to sent the mammoth back to Germany!

They wrote letters to the German students, made a recipe book with typical Spanish and Catalan recipes, prepared canvas to show what to visit in our country, made a video showing our school and took the mammoth with them to the spring camps!!

They worked hard and enjoyed doing it!!!

The travelling mammoth, un projecte europeu a EP a través de E-Twinning!

Escrit per RR.II.,

The travelling mammoth finally arrived to Badalona!!

Here I sent you 3 pictures of the three sixth grade classes with the letters the german students wrote them.

We received many things from Germany:

– The mammoth stuffed toy.

– The personal letters.

– A book with typical monuments in their city.

– Different german recipes.

– A video of the students showing us their school.

– Some sweets for the 3 classes and the teacher.

Now it’s time for us to prepare things for them, and we are already on to it!!!

The travelling mammoth is a project from grade 5 to 8.

The mammoth has a rucksack which includes items from his home country Germany and letters from the students to the students in the different countries. We are close to a Stone Age Park so we chose a mammoth.

The school of destination will respond to the letters and also prepare something that can be put into the rucksack. For every country there will be a letter (what is special about school, traditions, description of country,…) from the countries he has already been.

The aim is to raise awareness for the other cultures and to motivate the students that even if the other students from different countries have their mother tongue, English is the language to connect each other.

The mammoth project will be exhibited in every school with a map that shows were the mammoth was and letters and things that were also in the bag will be exhibited as well.

The mammoth with his bag will start travelling from Germany to the first country on the list and will travel also back to Germany with a bag full of letters and some goodies from the visited country. After that the mammoth will travel further on. Every country has to put a letter and a goodie that is spezialisiert for this country in the bag for every other country that takes part.
